Wireless Access for Guests

This from Bill Stahl's email. I'm posting it here for future reference for us all:
Because of recent network upgrades, Western Carolina University now has the ability to provide visitors with wireless network access. If you have a contractor, vendor, a conference group or other visitors on official university business you can request a guest wireless account for them by visiting http://www.wcu.edu/it/wireless/guestlogin.html.

A guest account will be created and the necessary login information will be emailed back to you. The creation of guest accounts is currently a manual process so please allow 2 business days to process your request. Future enhancements will include an automated process for creating accounts which will allow any authorized faculty or staff member to create guest accounts directly. Guest wireless accounts automatically expire after 7 days. Guest wireless accounts have full access to the Internet but very limited access to on-campus resources.

If your visitor needs long-term access or access to on campus resources (for example Banner), please contact the IT Services Help Desk (227-7487) for an alternative solution.

My note: do NOT use this route for students/faculty/staff as it will be mostly useless for us. Go to the wireless information page to get connected to the wireless network as a faculty, staff, or student.
